Description

Fluxwerx Illumination Inc. is a leading innovator in an industry experiencing unprecedented growth. From our local facility in Port Kells, Surrey, we design, manufacture, and market architectural lighting products. This role supports the team by ensuring received materials and parts are inspected, labelled, sorted, and stocked properly, amongst all other daily duties. This role is a physical and hands-on role which requires a high degree of communication and attention to detail.
We are looking for an energetic and team-oriented Receiver / Material Handler to join our growing team. This is a full-time Monday to Friday position (8:00 am- 4:30 pm). We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and continue to grow! Forklift training will be provided.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of forklift experience required
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing industry preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material handling is an asset
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Syteline or similar systems is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse workforce
  • Strong motivation to continue to grow professionally and develop additional leadership skills
  • An ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to problem solve, work in high pressure environment, and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to stand up for 5 hours at a time and push/pull/lift up to 70 lbs. consistently
Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments of boxes/pallet safely using forklift or electric pallet jack
  • Receive items into receiving software & prepare & print inventory labels corresponding received items
  • Count, label & move material put away to the racking & fill bins as needed
  • Handle materials weighing in excess of 50 lbs., use warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklift, while maintaining safety protocols & procedures
  • Deliver materials from racking to the production team
  • Maintain warehouse organization, ensure adherence to 5S practices at all times & look for continuous improvements
  • Maintain efficiency when order picking Raw Material to send out to vendors
  • Strap, wrap, & build pallets ensuring they are secured for loading for transportation
  • Complete waybills, documentation, packaging, shipping labels & ensure raw material shipments are accurately labeled
  • Coordinate outgoing Raw Material shipments between buyers & logistic carriers to vendors
  • Support Inventory Associates with cycle counting & troubleshoot inventory discrepancies
  • Be positive, optimistic, & realistic while motivating your team to success
  • Identify & report any unsafe practices or conditions to Manager
  • Other duties, as requested by the Manager, including assembly
