Description

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

- - High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- - Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent training is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

- - Minimum 3 years’ inspection experience in the aerospace, aircraft maintenance, or precision manufacturing industry.
- - Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), and bill of materials.- Practical knowledge of inspection methods for machined, sheet metal, composite, and welded assemblies.- Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 QMS standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

SKILLS:

- - Proficient with precision measurement equipment and inspection documentation.
- - Strong computer skills including ERP/MRP systems (Ramco, SAP, Oracle, etc.), Microsoft Office, and quality database tools.- Excellent attention to detail, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP).
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel within North America.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency).

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $52.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Incoming Inspection:

    • Perform detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming aircraft parts, manufactured components, hardware, and raw materials.- Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc.).- Interpret and verify part compliance using aerospace standards, OEM manuals, and engineering change documentation.

    • Documentation Review:

    • Review and validate Certificates of Conformance (C of C), Airworthiness Certificates, Material Test Reports (MTRs), and special process certifications in accordance with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements.- Cross-check inspection data against ASTM, SAE, NAS, and MIL specifications where applicable.

    • Non-Conformance Management:

    • Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming material through the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).- Issue and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), coordinate with suppliers for corrective actions, and ensure closure within defined timelines.- Work closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve inspection issues.- Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving receiving inspection work instructions, checklists, and training material.- Participate in supplier audits focusing on incoming product quality.- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the company’s safety program.- Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulatory requirements for incoming aircraft parts and materials.
