Receiving Clerk, Lead         SUMMARY: Responsible for the supervision of receiving clerks by overseeing the daily operations of the loading dock and storage areas     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:   1. Coordinate the daily assignments for the receiving team, prioritize the delivery of product per department directives. 2. Ensure daily deliveries match purchase orders and communicate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies including quality rejections. 3. Coordinate and maintain the department’s inventory control method FIFO (First-In, First-Out). 4. Establish and maintain a culture of safety on the dock and in the warehouse areas to meet SNHD and OSHA standards thorough the use of proper PPE by all team members, the operation of the forklifts only used by authorized individuals, and keep the floors clear of debris.     ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Identify operational efficiencies and present recommendations to streamline flow of goods. 2. Provide a daily “end of shift” brief regarding any missed deliveries or team performance issues to the Corporate Purchasing Director. 3. Develop and train line level employees in the purchasing/ receiving department. 4. Anticipate busy periods (i.e. holidays & large downtown events) and prep the storage areas in advance to handle increased volumes.     KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS   1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.  Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.  This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Ability to continually lift, carry, push and pull heavy materials weighing up to 100 pounds.  Must be able to push/pull carts with or without assistance.  3. Must have knowledge of food quality standards and product identification. 4. Must be 21 years of age and be able to obtain all local, state and federal regulatory permits as required by position.   WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work in a busy environment. Must be able to tolerate a work area with extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
