We believe that honest, long-lasting relationships—with our guests, employees, neighbors, and the surrounding environment—are essential to sustaining and growing our business. ---------------------------------------- POSITION SUMMARY Receiving & Loading Dock Associate The Receiving & Loading Dock Associate is responsible for the daily operation and organization of the resort’s loading dock, including the receipt, inspection, documentation, storage, and distribution of all incoming deliveries. This role ensures materials, supplies, and equipment are received accurately, communicated promptly, and distributed efficiently to the appropriate departments. This position is part of the Maintenance team and provides support with basic maintenance and facilities tasks as needed. Success in this role requires strong organization, communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and service excellence. ---------------------------------------- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES SHIPPING, RECEIVING & DOCK OPERATIONS * Manage the daily operations of the receiving and loading dock. * Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and completeness. * Document deliveries accurately, including packing slips, delivery confirmations, and internal tracking as required. * Communicate the receipt of materials and equipment promptly to the appropriate departments. * Coordinate and ensure timely distribution of received items to internal departments and storage locations. * Prepare outgoing shipments as needed, including packaging, labeling, and coordination with carriers. * Maintain an organized, clean, and safe loading dock and receiving area at all times. INVENTORY, ORGANIZATION & COORDINATION * Assist with basic inventory tracking and supply organization. * Ensure proper storage of materials in compliance with safety, manufacturer, and resort guidelines. * Monitor incoming deliveries for special handling requirements. * Report discrepancies, damages, or delivery issues to Maintenance leadership or Purchasing as appropriate. * Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve delivery issues efficiently. MAINTENANCE & FACILITIES SUPPORT * Assist the Maintenance Department with basic maintenance and facilities tasks as assigned, which may include: * Minor repairs * Equipment movement * Seasonal setup or breakdown * General labor support * Support resort-wide operational needs during peak seasons, special events, or projects. SAFETY, COMPLIANCE & COMMUNICATION * Follow all safety procedures related to lifting, material handling, equipment use, and dock operations. * Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment safely (certification may be required or provided). * Maintain clear, professional communication with vendors, drivers, department leaders, and coworkers. * Adhere to all Shanty Creek Resorts policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. * Perform other duties as assigned. ---------------------------------------- PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY * Accuracy and timeliness of receiving and distribution processes. * Organization, cleanliness, and safety of the loading dock and receiving areas. * Effective communication of deliveries and distribution status. * Reliability, teamwork, and responsiveness to maintenance and operational needs. ---------------------------------------- GUEST SERVICE & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT While this role is primarily operational, professional conduct and service excellence remain essential. All Shanty Creek Resorts employees are expected to: * Maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook. * Interact courteously and professionally with coworkers, vendors, delivery drivers, and guests when applicable. * Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and a service-oriented mindset in all interactions. ---------------------------------------- PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS EXPERIENCE * Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, dock operations, or maintenance support preferred but not required. EDUCATION * High School Diploma or equivalent required. REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES * Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple deliveries and tasks. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Effective verbal communication skills. * Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials (up to 50 lbs regularly). * Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts. * Basic computer or record-keeping skills preferred. * Valid driver’s license preferred. ---------------------------------------- WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT * This position works both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Work involves standing, walking, lifting, bending, and operating equipment. * May require early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts based on delivery schedules and operational needs. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
