SUMMARY

We are seeking a Receiving Supervisor to join our team at Foss Recycling Inc. located in North Carolina. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient inventory management and operations within our facilities, contributing to our mission of driving positive change in the recycling industry.

• Oversee receiving operations to ensure accurate inventory management.
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage warehouse distribution activities and logistics.

• Oversee daily yard operations that include receiving, buying, and shipping of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, with a focus on quality control and inventory management.
• Coordinate with logistics for incoming and outgoing loads and materials, ensuring accurate and efficient loading/unloading of vans, overseas containers, flatbeds, and roll-offs. Checking for non conforming materials with each load..
• Ensure all materials are sent to the correct yard locations and verify that all incoming materials are properly sorted before shipment.
• Ensure all materials are loaded effectively onto trucks, with each piece checked for Quality Control (QC) to verify correct material is shipped and sent to other yards.
• Implement and oversee QC processes for materials on the yard fleet, ensuring all vehicles and equipment used for material transport are inspected for quality and compliance before loading and dispatch.
• Verify all shipping and receiving paperwork is accurate and complete, ensuring all boxes and containers are properly labeled.
• Manage car buying operations, including accurate inventory tracking and ensuring all necessary information is collected for compliance with 90.IO reporting requirements.
• Ensure scales are calibrated and accurate for weighing materials, particularly for scrap transactions.
• Optimize workflow processes to maximize throughput and minimize downtime, implementing lean operational strategies where applicable.
• Monitor inventory levels of scrap materials, and coordinate with sales and production teams to align with shipping demands.
• Utilize warehouse management systems for effective inventory control.
• Coordinate shipping and receiving processes to meet customer needs.
• Train staff on best practices for materials handling and equipment use.
• Qualifications
• Proven experience in warehouse supervisor roles or similar positions.
• Strong skills in inventory management and control.
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and logistics.
• Ability to lead teams effectively while promoting accountability.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, particularly OSHA standards.
• Experience with warehouse management systems is preferred.
• Forklift certification.
• Excellent communication skills.
