Description

A progressive accountancy practice in Galway is seeking a Recently Qualified Accountant to join its growing team. This practice delivers a wide range of professional services including statutory accounting, tax compliance, payroll, and financial advisory to a diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant who’s looking to deepen their experience across multiple sectors in a dynamic and hands-on role.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified, ideally with 1+ years’ post-qualification experience in practice
  • Solid grasp of Irish GAAP and understanding of Irish tax law and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Surf, Thesaurus, or similar platforms
  • Excellent Excel and general IT skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over your work

    Pay: €45,000.00-€55,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and finalise statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
  • Complete income and corporation tax returns using Revenue Online Service (ROS) and relevant software
  • Compile and review VAT filings, payroll submissions, and periodic management reports
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather required information and resolve queries
  • Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards and compliance obligations
  • Ensure high standards in accuracy and timeliness across all deliverables
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development (CPD) initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Assist senior staff with advisory assignments and technical research
  • Support junior staff where appropriate, including informal mentoring and file review
