Job Specification - Reception Manager
Department: Reception
Reports to: Revenue Manager
Working Liaison: All Departments
We at The Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown are currently inviting applicants for a new and exciting opportunity for the position of Reception Manager to join our busy Reception Team.
We need someone who is highly organised and has passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Specific Departmental requirements:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Reception Department and Team
  • To supervise Reception shifts
  • To ensure the standards are being met in Reception team by closely monitoring and training of the Reception Team
  • Having a hands on approach in motivating and leading the Reception team ensure the smooth, efficient and professional running of the Department
  • To work with HR in ensuring Recruitment and Training are carried out to the high standards in the Reception Department
  • Ensure the Administrative duties are carried out in the Departments and requests are completed for external companies and internal departments in a professional and speedy manner
  • Ensuring a close working relationship with the Reservations and Sales team
  • Ensuring all customer enquiries at the desk or over the phone are dealt with in a professional and friendly manner
  • Always ensuring adequate cover for the Reception Department particularly in busy check in/check out periods
  • To ensure Mews is updated and correct information is inputted
  • Follow up on daily matters in the Reception Department and communicate information to your team and other Departments
  • Follow up on any incidents during each shift, action taken and any necessary follow up
  • Manage the operation of the Front Desk to ensure an optimal level of service and hospitality provided to the guests

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of working in a similar role
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Mews/Hotsoft/Opera or other similar client system
  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Excellent team player
  • Professional phone manner
  • Sales experience would be a distinctive advantage
