Description:
JPR Industries Inc. is looking to recruit a Purchaser/Reception Administrator to work in office, at our shop in Shaughnessy, AB. We are a welding/construction company that repairs and builds feed mills for feedlots in the area, constructs agricultural steel buildings and completes many other miscellaneous fabrication projects. A knowledge of, or background in the agriculture industry would be beneficial but is not required. This job would be full-time. We are looking for someone with good communication skills and proficiency using computers. The ideal candidate is one that is willing to develop and grow with us as our company expands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Customer service.
- High School diploma required; post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is an asset.
- Prior reception or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:
Purchasing Duties:
- Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage stock replenishment.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Process purchase orders in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Nest materials to reduce waste.
- Research deals and suppliers.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Coordinate freight and delivery of items to the shop and job sites.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Maintain detailed purchasing records and reports
Reception & Administrative Duties:
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.
- Answer and direct phone calls.
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate facility-related needs.
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
- Plan monthly staff events and help host.
- Maintain the filing system.
- Update and maintain purchasing policies and procedures.
- Support other departments with administrative tasks as needed.
