Successful candidates for the Shift Leader will demonstrate genuine dedication to The Berkeley and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is a fast learner, adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, a professional and welcoming personality and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Opera PMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Shift Leader you will be responsible for the smooth running of the shift at the Front Desk, delegating all tasks from the shift duties list and assisting the Receptionists where necessary. Throughout your shift, you will complete general reception duties, allocate rooms best suitable for each guest and ensure that credit procedures are followed.

Main responsibilities of the Shift Leader include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide the most welcoming and accommodating service to all guests, in compliance with departmental Standard of Procedures (SOPs) and hotel service standards aspects.
  • Monitor and coach all reception staff to assure guest satisfaction.
  • Assure a smooth and economical operation in consideration of guest service and revenue.
  • Maintain and maximize hotel revenue.
  • Ensure the shift is well managed by communicating with all relevant departments.
  • Contribute in maintaining an excellent level of service in conjunction with the minimum requirement of the LQA standards at all times.
