POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, friendly and personable Administrative Assistant to support our clinical and front-office operations. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office environment preferred
  • Strong familiarity or willingness to learn AADL, WCB, NIHB, and AHS billing procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive financial and patient data
  • Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Friendly, professional, and patient-focused demeanor

Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and professional experience
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, and in person
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Prepare and submit funding and billing documentation for a variety of payers, including:
  • Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL)
  • Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)
  • Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)
  • Alberta Health Services (AHS)
  • Private insurance and third-party agencies
  • Follow up on claim submissions, resolve billing issues, and track approvals
  • Support clinicians with administrative tasks such as form preparation, ordering, and scanning
  • Perform general office duties, including filing, supply management, and mail handling
