Description

This is work in a law office and requires excellent writing skills, organizational, superior phone demeanor and computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel). This person will work with lawyers and clients, assist with managing lawyer calendars and information, and review and prepare first drafts of documents and other related administrative work.

  • Mature, friendly and professional phone and in-person demeanor
  • Organizational skills in scheduling and meeting deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Administrative experience and familiarity with a professional office (law office preferred)
  • Mastery of computer software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong editing and writing skills, including attention to detail for document review and proofreading
  • Excellent phone and office etiquette
  • Strong organizational skills for scheduling appointments with multiple parties.
  • Helpful attitude to meet the needs of the attorneys as they change.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to trial attorneys
  • Answer phone calls, assist clients where needed, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate
  • Type correspondence sent through email, create PDFs, compose formal letters, and proofread that no spelling or grammar mistakes are in any written correspondence, including emails
  • Mail, courier or electronically file important legal correspondence with no mistakes via the judicial system process
  • Scan, copy and file documents from various sources including court documents, letters, emails, and other communications,
  • Maintain a a case calendar for attorneys to ensure they meet all deadlines and appearances, in compliance with case due dates
  • Speak with clients and potential clients and schedule appointments
  • Organize office meetings
