Good Child Development Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been providing excellence in childcare for 55 years. Located in the heart of Milford, Connecticut, we house children ages 6 weeks to 6 years in a beautiful building specifically designed for early childhood education. Our NAEYC accredited center applies a play to learn methodology and focuses on meeting every child’s developmental and social-emotional needs. JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a dedicated and professional Receptionist with Administrative Assistant experience to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and support to our families, while ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position is crucial to support our center’s operations, and requires flexibility and proactivity to help our CEO and directors with any unforeseen circumstances.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a clerical role.
  • Previous experience in a childcare setting is ideal.
  • Familiarity with front desk operations in a childcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs Suite.
  • Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Ring people into the center after confirming their identity and what they are visiting for.
  • Greet and welcome families and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Getting to know families and their children to better identify people who need to be allowed into the center.
  • Answer phone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and document management.
  • Assist with customer service inquiries and provide information as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
  • Support administrative staff with various tasks as required, including minor errands.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and families.
  • Observe ratios and counts through the Procare platform (any new hire who isn’t familiar with the software will be trained in it).
