Salary: G6 – starting salary £24,790 pro rata (actual salary £8,789) (pay award pending of 3.2%)
Hours: 15 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks)
Fixed term contract: from 01.09.2025 - 22.07.2027
Working pattern: all requests considered - to be agreed at interview.
Cotham School, a successful, vibrant and diverse 11-18 comprehensive school, wishes to appoint an experienced Administrator to join the Admin team in our busy school office and reception.
The successful candidate will provide efficient and effective administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the school, which will include some reception duties. Applicants must have experience in performing all aspects of administration using Microsoft Office and Gmail; experience of using Google Docs is desirable. Experience of SIMS or other school Management Information Systems would be highly advantageous, but full training will be provided.

ACCOUNTABLE TO

Deputy Director of Finance and Resources - Finance, HR & Admin

CORE PURPOSE

To provide an efficient and welcoming reception service, and to meet the administrative and clerical needs of the school as a part of the Administration Team.
This will include working within the school’s reception areas and to be the first point of contact for all internal and external callers to the school.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Provide routine clerical support as required, e.g. photocopying, e-mailing, prepare letters, complete routine forms, maintain confidentiality of all the School’s records.
  • Assist with school room bookings for class re-rooming, events, meetings and exams using the school’s management information system (SIMS) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Work with the administrative team to ensure that all work received into the office via the Admin Helpdesk is completed in line with agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain and update the school’s management information system (SIMS).

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation and school policies and to understand and comply with the school’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Maintaining high and professional standards as the front-line service to the school.
  • Have a commitment to Child Safeguarding, to promote the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the School’s agreed procedures.
