We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, professional and enthusiastic Receptionist at CEMAST. You will be working Mon, Tues and Thurs from 08.30 – 17.00 and half day Wed and Fri.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • To demonstrate well-developed IT skills, including word-processing and accurate database input. Teaching/tutoring/mentoring experience with apprentices, part time or full time learners.
  • To demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with staff, students and visitors, in person and over the phone. Organised with excellent communication skills.

To handle multiple enquiries via telephone, email and in person and work flexibly.

  • To be organised, and be able to keep accurate records.
  • To demonstrate previous experience of working within a Receptionist role.
  • To demonstrate previous experience of working within in a customer service environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least GCSE standard or equivalent including English and Maths at grade C or above and possess demonstrable IT skills.

Responsibilities
  • To provide a welcoming and professional front of house Reception Service for students, staff and visitors.
  • To take ownership of the entire College Reception area, ensuring it is clean, tidy, welcoming and up-to-date.
  • To operate the College switchboard effectively to ensure that all CEMAST stakeholders have a positive interaction with the College.
  • Monitor students identified on the High-Risk Attendance Register at key points during the College day via Pro Solution attendance reports and academic staff notifications.
  • Make contact with parents/guardians/students as appropriate to ascertain the situation and log notes accordingly on student Pro Monitor records, referring to Safeguarding/Health & Wellbeing staff as appropriate.
  • To maintain appropriate records, statistics and electronic data in connection with the service provided and complete all necessary administrative tasks to support this including the production of apprentice attendance reports for employers. .
  • To support the PA and Operations Co-ordinator in the administrative tasks.
  • To provide support which will allow students to succeed with their chosen qualification including the co-ordination of overall orders, telephone calls and letters to students/parents and arranging meetings for parents where appropriate.
  • Organisation of photocopying and maintenance of stationery stocks.
  • Provide appropriate admin support for all teaching staff at CEMAST.
  • Assist with the planning and organise all bespoke events (e.g. guest visits) and ensure that all allocated support staff are fully briefed and prepared to play their supporting roles.
  • To attend and support College events including Open Evenings, Welcome Days, Advice Evenings and others as appropriate.
