Description The receptionist is responsible for phone calls and scheduling appointments for patients, receiving patient payments, insurance verification, and posting of daily charges and day end procedures. This position will also cover for the medical assistant(s) as needed. Essential Functions: Schedule appointments for the clinic patients. Check-in patients, update demographic, insurance, or payment information. Answer phone calls, refer to the proper person or take messages as necessary. Prepare charts for new patients and obtain necessary demographic and payment information. Prepare referrals and send/fax to appropriate office. Complete insurance verification for patients at each appointment. Receive – post insurance and payments, prepare and submit daily deposits. There are functions within the position, while not consider essential, are a part of the functions of the position that might be required. Requirements EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED EXPERIENCE: Education and/or experience as a receptionist or office assistant, preferred. Proficient using computer and other office equipment, including Microsoft Office products. Excellent verbal and written communication The ability to provide quality customer service.
