Shift is Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Compensation: $17.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour DOE. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for conducting timely admissions for all patients in a professional manner. Responsible for scheduling appointments, coordinating workflows, providing clerical support, and performing responsibilities that maintain accurate and effective processes in the clinics. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer the telephone in a prompt, polite, and professional manner and direct calls to the appropriate staff. Give the best possible first impression by greeting all patients, visitors, guests, and employees and acknowledge each individual upon entry and exit. Demonstrate positive professional customer service in all patient, staff, and visitor contacts. Maintain patient records in electronic health record by scanning patient reports and records in a timely fashion. Demonstrate professional, appropriate, effective, and tactful written, verbal, and nonverbal communication with patient, families, medical staff, colleagues, vendors, and other departments throughout the continuum of care to promote continuity of care and services and enhance clinic image. Assist with incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, copying, filing, and all other clerical work as requested. Gather, verify, and process referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications by working closely with providers, patients, and payors. Pre-admit and admit patients by gathering all insurance and demographic information. Update patient information at each visit. Collect copays and payments or directs private pay customers to Billing to set up a payment plan. Order and maintain office supplies for the clinic. Acknowledge patient rights on confidentiality issues, maintain patient confidentiality at all times, and follow HIPAA guidelines and regulations. Participate in the staff development activities and orientation as requested. Proactively act as patient advocate, responding to and working to resolve patient concerns.
