The Cook’s Ferry Indian Band is a Nlaka’pamux government located in the Central Interior Region of British Columbia. It has 26 reserves of various sizes, primarily in the scenic Thompson River Valley between what are now known as Ashcroft and Lytton, British Columbia, and through the Nicola Valley, including Merritt.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Cook’s Ferry Indian Band is seeking a reliable, passionate Receptionist to join our team and will be responsible for managing the front desk day to day operations. This role plays an important part of ensuring visitors and callers are being assisted in a professional friendly manner, answer any inquires and perform various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Clear and respectful communication skills.
· Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
· Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, email platforms, and file management systems.
Administrative & Office Support
· Schedule appointments and manage calendars for staff.
· Prepare and distribute meeting materials.
· Order and maintain office supplies inventory.
· Answer all incoming calls, take messages and forward calls to staff members.
· Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence including emails and faxes.
· Read and analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports, and determine where they should be directed.
Meeting & Member Support Coordination
· Maintain office space bookings.
· Arrange for lunch meetings as needed.
· Support contacting members for events, meetings, and community activities.
· Maintain and update member contact lists.
Office Maintenance
· Greet and welcome visitors in a friendly and helpful manner and answer any inquiries.
· Ensure reception area is tidy, organized and welcoming.
· Restock and maintain break room supplies (coffee, snacks, beverages, utensils).
· Report facility issues to Office Manager.
