We are currently seeking a passionate and guest focussed Hotel Receptionist to join our Front of House team.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience working or similar environment preferred

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)

  • Pro-active and reliable
  • Able to work alone and within a team

EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATION:

  • Good level of English essential
Responsibilities

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • To be able to deal with advance reservations, taking bookings and special requirements, where necessary.
  • To be able to operate switchboard and deal with messages and enquiries when required in an efficient manner.
  • To receive guests on arrival to required standard and a friendly manner, and ensure their details are entered into the computer correctly and efficiently.
  • To post all transactions on a regular basis, to ensure that all bills are kept up to date. Ensure correct postings to the correct bills.
  • To prepare cash for banking, on a daily basis. Complete receipts for all moneys received from pay-ins etc. Operate proper care regarding rates and currency handling. To ensure all floats are correct at the end of each shift.
  • To ensure each room has sufficient credit card authorization.
  • To operate a proper handover system between each shift.
  • To ensure the contingency procedure is followed.
  • To act quickly and efficiently during emergency situations.
