An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as a Receptionist at the Derwent Unit, Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
The role is 30 hours per week and this is to cover days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
We are looking for a Receptionist to assist in ensuring the delivery of a high quality, front-of-house, administrative/secretarial support - reflecting the professionalism of the service.
If you are applying for this post on a secondment basis you must have the prior approval from your current line manager before applying.
There is a possibility that this post may become permanent in the future.
You will join our busy, front-of-house team in delivering an efficient and effective service.
This post has interesting and varied responsibilities, including typing/word processing, scanning, data input and front-of-house duties, including security procedures.
It is essential that you have excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills.
You must be able to prioritise work, responding to any queries from service users, staff, the general public and other agencies in a professional manner.
You will be required to be flexible with your approach as you will be required to work a shift pattern to ensure the reception is covered at all times during the day.
You should have demonstrable experience or possess RSA II Typewriting or Word Processing, have a good standard of spelling and grammatical accuracy and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
You need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues and possible security issues.

On behalf of the service, ensure effective communication with all outside agencies, general public and clients/carers, taking accurate messages or dealing with queries in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures.
Ability to work flexibly with other admin colleagues to ensure that workload pressures and absences due to annual leave and sickness are dealt with appropriately, by using available resources.
Reception of clients/visitors/staff attending the Service. This involves a personalised approach displaying sensitivity and tolerance toward the individual.
To assist in providing full clerical/secretarial support to all members of the department, including typing/word processing of letters, memos, minutes (taking notes and transcribing), client reports, appointment letters and other routine correspondence, which involves working to tight timescales and deadlines.
