Job Details Position Type: Per Diem Education Level: None Salary Range: $17.50 Hourly Description JOB TITLE: Weekend/Holiday Health Center Concierge REPORTS TO: Executive Administrative Manager SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Hourly General Description: The primary purpose of the Weekend Receptionist/Concierge is to greet, direct and assist visitors, family members and residents; and perform assigned clerical and reception duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with established guidelines and procedures, and as directed by the supervisor. This position works as the central communications center for the nursing staff on weekends and holidays. Essential Job Functions: 1. Answer main telephone line courteously and professionally, determine nature of call, and transfer to appropriate party. 2. Greet and direct residents, visitors, vendors, etc. 3. Ensure that all visitors are logging in the EP Guest Book/Kiosk (entry and exit). 4. Use walkie-talkie ONLY AS NEEDED for service request emergencies and to page maintenance, housekeeping and laundry as needed. In case of any urgent issues, call the managers/department heads on their cell phones to report urgent issues and to get instructions. 5. Monitor staff and visitors coming in and out of the HC entrance and request them to sign in and sign out (even staff that are still working their shifts---if they leave the building). 6. Ensure outgoing mail is ready for pickup and log in delivered packages. • Ensure that food and perishable items brought in by family for residents are picked up by Unit Staff right away. • Radio porter to deliver packages that have been delivered/dropped off, to the appropriate office/department. • Sort and distribute incoming mail (Mail Room). 7. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information to ensure protection of personal matters. 8. Make sure to communicate with the designated MOD (manager on duty) for the day any issues that may arise. 9. Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when operating office equipment. Responsible for the operation of the postage machine, and assists in replenishing postage, ink, etc. 10. Report any issues that may arise on your shift to the HC Administrator and your Supervisor via email. In the absence of administration, it is important that they be made aware of issues so they can resolve or correct. 11. Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to supervisor and follow-up communications with responsible persons. 12. Responsible for maintaining office supplies in reception area. 13. Handle the sales of guest meal tickets for the Healthcare Center dining rooms and maintains cash/check receipts and ticket sales log 14. Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc. as approved. 15. Ensure that the front desk/office appearance remains neat, clean and free of clutter throughout the day. Ensure that the safe/files are locked and that all electrical equipment has been turned off at end of workday. 16. Perform any other job-related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by Supervisor. Qualifications Key Characteristics: 1. Entry Level Qualifications: • Minimum two years clerical and reception experience. • Professional and courteous appearance and demeanor • Strong phone and computer skills (Internet, MS Outlook, MS Office Suite). • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner and possess a pleasant speaking voice. • Genuine concern for the elderly and dealing with their needs. • Able to multitask. Physical Requirements (With or without reasonable accommodations): 1. Must be able to lift and carry packages and equipment up to 20 lbs. 2. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, twist and move about in confined areas.
