Description

60%-80%, ZURICH, FIXED-TERM

At SPH we inspire and empower students to cultivate a maker and innovator mindset. We believe that by exploring their ideas and developing their own projects, students gain valuable hands-on experience and learn important skills for their future. This is why we’ve created an ecosystem where students (Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral) are encouraged to ideate, build prototypes, test and refine them.
Our interdisciplinary team of thirty people provides students that want to pursue extracurricular projects of various types and scales, with a comprehensive range of support. We have a co-working, ideation, and event space and offer coaching. In addition, we have a greatly equipped Makerspace that gives students access to the tools and equipment they need to prototype.
We are looking for welcoming receptionists who acts as the first point of contact for our students and guests at the reception. Read on to see if that might be you!

JOB DESCRIPTION

You’ll be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Welcoming visitors. You’ll be the first point of contact for students and guests, setting the tone for our community. You’ll greet everyone in a friendly manner, answer questions, assist where you can, and connect them with the right people when needed.
  • Safety and security. You’ll act as the first point of contact in case of emergencies and help ensure that the space is used only by authorized users.
  • Facility services. You’ll help keep our space clean and functional. This includes some hands-on tasks like loading/unloading dishwashers, restocking and cleaning the coffee machine, tidying up shared areas, picking up parcels, and creating service tickets when ETH facility services are needed.
  • Giving tours. You’ll guide new students and guests through our space(s), showcasing what we offer, answering questions, and introducing them to our team and community members.
  • Administrative tasks. From the reception desk, you’ll manage our ticketing system, handle phone calls, and coordinate event requests.
  • Team support. Our team of 30 is always working on new ideas and projects to improve SPH. You’ll be part of that process, offering hands-on support to help make it happen.

CURIOUS? SO ARE WE.

We’d love to get to know you! Please record a maximum one-minute video clip introducing yourself and why you are the perfect receptionist. We’re not looking for video production skills - just use your smartphone, be yourself, and don’t worry about editing the clip. We want to meet the real you!
Upload the video on a platform of your choice (Dropbox, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, …) and include the URL link in your cover letter.

We look forward to receiving your online application with the following documents:

  • Cover letter, including the URL link to your video clip
  • CV

Please note that we can only accept applications submitted through our online application portall. Applications via email or by post will not be considered.
