We have an opportunity for a full-time Receptionist/Family Advisor with Edmonton Catholic Cemeteries (ECC). This position requires an individual who is an enthusiastic, practicing Catholic, has exceptional interpersonal, communication, service-oriented and public relations skills and the ability to be a welcoming and professional presence in greeting and interacting with parishioners, visitors, and other members of the public.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma with some post-secondary office or business administration training. Experience in sales and retail would be a definite asset. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail. A commitment to service and to be able to show concern for and willingness to listen, understand and anticipate the needs of individuals, families and agencies is required. Good computer skills including MS Word, Excel and accounting software.

The responsibilities include serving families that come in the door, call on the phone, make contact via email, by booking appointments, showing grave locations, fielding concerns, and extending grace and mercy to families in the bereavement process. Other duties include filing paperwork, tidying up family rooms after appointments, and other duties as required
The receptionist will also be trained as a family advisor with the intention of moving into the role when the opportunity arises. The responsibilities of a family advisor include meeting with at-need and pre-need families and individuals; preparing contracts for the purchase of burial spaces, grave memorials and responding to inquiries regarding cemetery policies and procedures. Other duties include serving as an on-site resource to all who visit or call, liaising with funeral homes and ensuring all office records are kept current. These responsibilities are carried out with the highest degree of integrity and sensitivity.
