JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Lifestyles, the Receptionist performs a variety of switchboard and receptionist duties. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY

The Receptionist must have a working knowledge of good receptionist practices and procedures and the ability to maintain good rapport with residents, families vendors and staff. Must possess good written and oral communication skills, being able to understand written and oral instructions. The Receptionist will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Regular attendance is considered an essential function of this position and is necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
  • Answers and screens incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner and routes to proper department.
  • Greets and checks in the public in a courteous manner provides information to inquiries, and directs clients as needed.
  • Performs clerical functions, including typing, and computer inputting duties. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effectively utilizes pager, logs, and telephone systems to contact appropriate staff as required.
  • Enters work orders on behalf of residents and/or staff.
  • Receives and coordinates the pickup and mail and packages.
  • Effectively and on a timely basis, directs emergency crews and staff to location of emergencies.
  • Participates in “in-service” education and training.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good rapport with interdepartmental and intradepartmental personnel and effective communication with medical staff and other departmental personnel and residents.
  • Will serve as back-up to the Community Support Representative.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
