Description
Company Description Receptionist (Full Time) - Greencross Vets Silkstone–Booval Greencross Vets Silkstone–Booval is looking for a full-time Receptionist to join our team—someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering great service, and wants to be part of a clinic that has been caring for its community for decades. About our clinic Our clinic has a long history, caring for the local community for over 30 years. Originally known as Silkstone Vet Hospital and later Greencross Silkstone, we relocated in 2021 to a modern co-located clinic in Booval Shopping Centre, right alongside Petbarn. This allows us to provide a complete pet care experience in one convenient location. We have a loyal, multi-generational client base—many families have trusted us with the care of their pets for years, and continue to return with their new companions. Our team is made up of long-standing staff, many of whom started as school-based trainees, placement students, or interns. We take pride in developing our people, and our team culture reflects that—supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in each other. Meet the team here. We also work closely with our Greencross Ipswich clinic, with team members often collaborating across both sites. In addition to in-clinic care, we also offer local house call services, providing flexibility and support to clients who are unable to visit the clinic. About the role This is a full-time position where you will be the first point of contact for our clients and play a key role in creating a welcoming and organised clinic environment. Your responsibilities will include: Greeting clients and patients on arrival Answering phone calls and managing enquiries Booking appointments using our practice management system Processing payments and managing receipting Managing client emails and correspondence Preparing patient admission paperwork Performing banking and general administrative duties Triaging patients (training provided) Providing general advice on vaccination schedules, nutrition, and parasite prevention Preparing estimates for elective procedures You’ll be working in a busy clinic, where no two days are the same, and where your customer service skills will be used and valued every day. About you We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience in a reception or administrative role Has strong customer service skills and enjoys building relationships Has experience working with animals (highly regarded but not essential) Is confident using computers and learning new systems Is organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise tasks Can manage a varied workload and stay calm under pressure Is reliable, accountable, and works well within a team Communicates clearly and professionally Is motivated and takes initiative Why work at Silkstone–Booval A well-established clinic with a strong reputation in the community A loyal client base with long-standing relationships A supportive, team-focused environment Opportunities to work across clinics and gain broader experience A team that values development and progression Why Greencross You’ll also benefit from being part of the wider Greencross network: Ongoing continuing education and access to training programs Career progression opportunities across a national network Access to a broad network of vets and nurses Staff discounts on veterinary services and products, including Royal Canin Petbarn retail discounts Access to Fitness Passport Access to Pounce (discounts across retail, travel, fuel and more) Mental health and wellbeing support programs, including confidential counselling A genuine focus on work/life balance Apply If you’re looking to join a busy, community-focused clinic where you’ll be supported and valued as part of the team, we’d love to hear from you.
