Receptionist (HIMS) Department: Health & Information Management Systems Entity: Aga Khan University Hospital Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit health system with a quaternary care hospital in Karachi, and a nationwide presence through four Off-Campus Hospitals, 19 Medical Centres, more than 50 Pharmacies, and over 300 Laboratory sites across Pakistan. HIMS offers comprehensive medical record keeping services as well as expertise in medical coding, cancer registry coding, medical transcription and document imaging, all of which are crucial in maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date patient clinical records. We accommodate nearly 1.8 million medical records, with an average daily increase of 500 files. Every day, HIMS circulates about 4000 records both within the Stadium Road campus and with Clifton Medical Services. Responsibilities: You are responsible to: Release and prepare medical reports (investigation, discharge summaries) for external customers, Executive Clinic, and Corporate patients as per HIMS policy. Process birth/death certificate requests, including amendments and duplicates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy. Manage Family Hifazat program: brief customers, register requests, verify details in SAHL and scan/upload documents. Handle financial transactions: collect cash for medical report copies and deposit to cashier daily. Coordinate with Union Council by printing and delivering birth logs monthly for record updates. Maintain workflow efficiency: ensure adequate supplies, discard uncollected reports (>10 days old), and provide supervisor coverage when needed Requirements: You should have: Graduate Degree At least 2-4 years related work experience. Proficient at use of computer programs / software. Good English communication skills both verbal & written. Ability to understand customer’s (patient/visitor/other) needs to provide services that reflect value of the institution and promote customer satisfaction. Cash handling skills. Ability to perform multiple functions effectively under work pressure. Good public relations and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in shifts duties.
