Description

Legal Assistant
In this role you will:
- Be the initial contact on client files for both internal and external inquiries;
- Maintain and organize both paper and electronic client files on a daily basis;
- On-going communications with clients and other law firms;
- Produce and edit legal documents including: letters; memos; faxes; and agreements;
- Assist with electronic organization of financial disclosure, mediation materials; and other document briefs;
- Manage lawyers’ mail and email correspondence including maintenance of electronic “bring forward” system;
- Oversee calendar appointment/meetings bookings for lawyers;
- monthly billing; processing payment by credit card; paying vendors and other bookkeeping activities;
- Other administrative responsibilities as required.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a law firm (preferably Family Law);
- Have some bookkeeping or accounting experience;
- A certificate or diploma from a recognized legal assistant program;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, PDF-XChange Editor, OneDrive file sharing service;
- Experience with LEAP is a bonus;
- Strong organizational skills;
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and follow up on status and completion of tasks with other members of the team.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $38,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
