JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist to join our medical team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within our clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office environment, possess strong communication skills, and be proficient in various electronic health record (EHR) systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, Athena preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, insurance verification processes, and medical billing/coding practices.
  • CNA, RMA, PCT certification required (one).
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing skills (10 key typing preferred).
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Manage front desk operations, including answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and medical records.
  • Take patient vitals, chart prep, complete medication prior authorizations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and medical terminology.
  • Travel in between offices in West Hartford, Southington, Glastonbury as needed.
