POSITION: RECEPTIONIST

Canaan Group is a Canadian-owned International Freight Forwarding organization. We are currently seeking one highly motivated Receptionist to work in our growing company. This position is open and immediately available.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Focus on customer service and customer experience
  • Exceptional organization, teamwork and communication skills
  • Language: Fluency in Chinese and English is required.
  • Multi-tasking and good time management,
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented
    * Candidate(s) must own vehicle. Public transportation is not available at Mitchell Island.

Responsibilities
  • Operates multi-line telephone system
  • Answers all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner and directs callers to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Takes detailed messages when the call cannot be transferred; forwards this information to the person concerned as soon as possible.
  • Welcomes visitors, determines nature of business, and announces them with appropriate personnel or department.
  • Monitors visitor access and communicates safety information, provide safety vests when required.
  • Greets incoming drivers, verifies reservation numbers, and liaison with outside forklift operations to allow entry into facility.
  • Communicates with all container truck drivers, and informs the appropriate loading dock bay.
  • Accepts truck reservations; gathers information from mill or trucker regarding customer name, trucking company, mill and order number.
  • Checks daily delivery slips and scan all the truck slips promptly.
  • Performs other tasks and duties, such as filing, photocopying documents and data entry.
