Job title: Receptionist
Location: Hathersage Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Oxford Road Campus, M13 0FH
Department: The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV
Hours: Monday to Saturday, flexible across 6 days. 08:00 – 19:00 Monday to Thursday, either 8am - 4pm or 11am - 7pm. 08:00 – 16:00 Friday. 09:00 – 12:00 Saturday - rota basis
Shifts will be variable to a 37.5hr week within the above operating hours of the Clinic at Hathersage Centre.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous administration/receptionist experience
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Knowledge of Sexual Health, Contraception and HIV Services
  • Knowledge of Inform Sexual Health
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
Responsibilities
  • Greet all visitors attending the reception area, ascertain their requirements and respond to those requirements accordingly.
  • Clarify demographics for every patient contact face to face and via telephone and ensure systems are updated regularly.
  • Enter clinic attendances and outcomes onto INFORM in the identified timescales and to the identified standards.
  • Book appointments, update attendances and action referrals.
  • Maintain the reception and waiting area to an orderly state at all times.
  • Answer telephone calls courteously and politely, direct enquiries appropriately and take messages as necessary. Liaise with other departments where appropriate.
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail/ deliveries to appropriate members of the team.
  • Collate audits and activity monitoring of clinics and patient attendances.
  • Provide upon request case notes for collecting statistical data for audit, monitoring, research or similar purposes.
  • Filing, scanning and photocopying duties as required.
