Description

Our client, Connect Counselling & Therapy Society is a nonprofit organization that has been providing trauma-informed counselling and support services in the Central Okanagan for nearly 40 years. With funding from Interior Health and provincial ministries, Connect delivers accessible programs that foster mental health and well-being for individuals, couples, and families. As demand for services continues to grow, the team remains committed to creating a safe, supportive, and adaptable workplace rooted in care and community.
They are seeking a professional and compassionate Receptionist to join their team in Kelowna, BC. As the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and community partners, this role is key to creating a warm and welcoming environment. The Receptionist will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointment bookings, and provide essential administrative support to ensure the organization runs smoothly day to day. With the organization in a period of exciting growth, adaptability and a willingness to support change are important. As the role involves exposure to sensitive information and emotional situations, it requires a calm, grounded presence, strong emotional intelligence, and the utmost discretion.
Key responsibilities will include:

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required;
  • Post-secondary education in administration or a related field is an asset;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a reception or administrative role, preferably in a counselling, healthcare, or nonprofit setting;
  • Strong computer and database skills (Microsoft Office Suite; experience with client management systems including Jane.app is an asset);
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills;
  • Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality;
  • Aptitude to support change and growth;
  • Calm, grounded presence in an occasionally fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment;
  • A trauma-informed approach, or willingness to learn.
    Please note: Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check under the BC Criminal Records Review Act, including screening for work with vulnerable populations.
    This part-time role is anticipated to be approximately 23 hours per week, with regular shifts scheduled Monday to Friday, afternoons on most days and a full day on Wednesdays. Some flexibility may occasionally be required. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $22–$24, along with a comprehensive benefits package available after a 3-month probationary period. Benefits include 50% employer-paid extended health coverage, paid vacation, sick leave, personal days, life insurance, and long-term disability.
    If you are a detail-oriented and compassionate professional who thrives in a supportive, mission-driven environment, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your resume as soon as possible, we look forward to hearing from you
