The Club
The Oxford and Cambridge Club is an exclusive private members Club with a Grade II*-listed Clubhouse in central London. The Club has 46 bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant, 3 banqueting suites, 2 bars, 2 squash courts, a billiards room and extensive libraries. The Club has nearly 5000 members.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Receptionist to join our Front Office team. Duties will include providing a warm greeting to Members and guests, check in and check outs, taking bookings for bedrooms and the restaurant. Dealing with queries, answering and transferring calls all carried out in a professional, courteous manner. Security awareness is also paramount. The role is a full time position working 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7 including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The Person

  • To be successful in the role candidates must have a warm, friendly and welcoming demeanour and extremely well presented. A positive team player who is confident, conscientious and enthusiastic is a pre requisite.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, in a 5 star hotel.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.

Main Duties

  • Checking guest in/out, using the correct procedure.
  • Maintaining security by following procedures and controlling access, this includes welcoming at the door, making sure all members show their membership card on entry and sign in any guests. This also includes preventing unauthorised access.
  • Supervising the daily shift.
  • Book accommodation, restaurant reservations, facility bookings, and sending confirmations.
  • Settling bedroom and restaurant bills using various payments.
  • Answering telephone, screening and directing calls
