Description The Receptionist serves as a front-line, customer service position responsible for providing courteous and efficient service to all customers. This position greets and directs customers to appropriate personnel in a friendly manner, processes over the counter payments, answers and route incoming calls to appropriate personnel, and performs a variety of clerical tasks. The Receptionist’s primary responsibilities include reception and cashiering functions, such as greeting customers, processing bill payments, performing clerical duties, and routing customer calls to other departments as appropriate. Additional duties include billing support, remittance processing, mail handling, and data entry functions. A critical function of the position is the ability to interact with and support the accounting team and support the title clerk as needed. The Receptionist position is non-exempt and reports to the Controller. Cashier/Receptionist Duties: Answers incoming telephone calls and routes calls to appropriate individuals; Assists walk-in customers and visitors as needed; Performs all cashiering functions, including processing and recording cash payments and initiating daily reports; Balances cash at end of day; Ensures a secure, neat, and orderly lobby; Maintains an adequate display of brochures and information in the lobby; Types reports and correspondence as required; Performs other related jobs and duties as assigned; Restocks & orders office supplies; Maintains all written procedures for front desk tasks. Accounting Department Duties: Assists with accounting-related tasks including AP/AR data entry, maintaining AP/AR files; Performs basic data entry; Assists with the processing of title work and Secretary of State transactions; Scans and records documents; Maintains tax exemption files; Processes daily outgoing mail as needed; Types reports and correspondence as required; Provides additional accounting coverage as needed. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, some college coursework in accounting a plus Prior experience in a position that deals with customers or the public, and/or accounting preferred REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills Ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers and staff Must be a self-starter with the confidence and initiative to work independently as required Good clerical, computer and general office skills, including, copying, scanning, etc. Basic knowledge of accounting, office systems, procedures, and operations Accuracy, attention to detail and follow-through abilities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform demanding physical tasks at times such, bending, stooping, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (up to 25 lb.) items Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and a good driving record Must pass a background check, driving record and drug screen Must have reliable transportation to take / pick up deals at the Secretary of State Able to work Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, and a rotating Saturday 07:00 am - 1:00 pm PAY SCHEDULE: Weekly pay
