Dating back to the 1890’s, the Best Western Palace Hotel & Spa in Inverness is a welcoming, independently 4-Star hotel combining the best of the past with the contemporary style of the present with elegant interiors, lovely bedrooms and luxury Leisure Club & Spa. We are a bustling city centre hotel, with 110 bedrooms, expanding over 3 buildings.
We are looking for a full time or part time receptionist to join our team.
Must be able to work weekends. These positions are live out only.
Shift Patterns are 7am-3pm and 3pm -11pm - Occasional 10-6 depending on business needs.

Our ideal candidate will be:

  • Warm, friendly and confident with an eye for detail.
  • Someone who takes initiative and can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have excellent verbal and written English.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Previous reception or admin experience is desired but not essential.
  • Oracle Opera experience is advantageous.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing a friendly and customer orientated atmosphere for all guests during check in and check out.
  • Taking reservations over phone/email, knowing our packages, room types and policies and turning enquiries into sales.
  • Communicating guest needs and any changes to all departments daily.
  • Answering all guest queries, compliments and complaints in a timely, polite and professional manner over a variety of platforms providing accurate information.
  • Utilising teamwork to complete all shift tasks and take accountability for updating reservations, preparing info for day ahead/next day.
  • Responsible for taking all payments and processing in the Opera property management system.
  • Reconciliation of daily banking against card machines and Opera system.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
