Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Possess excellent customer care skills.
  • Be aware of and adhere to the practice fire policy and procedures.
  • Cooperate with risk assessments and report any arising risks.
  • Be a flexible team member, providing cover for other relevant staff during absences.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post holder’s grade, experience, and competence.
  • Participate in the Practice Development Plan review process and maintain a personal development plan.

MAIN TASKS:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and patients.
  • Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Use, update, and maintain the computerised appointment system.
  • Organise and record home visits.
  • Use, update, and maintain the computerised Prescribing system.
  • Handle and respond to enquiries via telephone or email.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Scan and manage hospital and clinic correspondence.
  • Create, receive, and complete tasks between clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • File patient records.
  • Perform general photocopying tasks.
  • Open and close the surgery.
