We are looking for a highly professional and enthusiastic individual to join our Reception Team at our 29 bedroom hotel, The Star in Alfriston. We are set at the foot of the East Sussex Downs and on the banks of the Cuckmere River in the heart of Alfriston Village.
This is a full time position for 40 hours per week with a 30 minute unpaid break - 5 days a week. Overtime is not usually requested. Normal shifts are 07:00-15:30, 14:00-22:30, 09:00-17:30. The salary for this position is £26,500 per year increasing to £27,000 upon completion of the 3 month probation. Plus an equal share of the 12.5% service charge.
In any week, you may get a mixture of these shifts.
-Tips: You will receive an equal share of the 12.5% service charge. This will vary based on the levels of business at the hotel, however, the current trend for staying in the UK means that we are always busy!

ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for an enthusiastic dynamic individual, positive and capable with a passion for this type of work, who is customer focused and has excellent command of both verbal and written (to GCSE level or equivalent) English. We require:
Previous experience of Opera Cloud would be advantageous.
Previous experience as a receptionist would be advantageous, but not required as training can be provided.
A confident, professional and welcoming personality.
Passionate about the hospitality industry.
An attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Effective communicator with an ability to build strong internal and external relationships;
Excellent grooming standards.
An ability to work under pressure and resilience.
Capable of multitasking.
A Hotel Receptionist duties can range from check-in through check-out; handling reservation enquiries, creating new reservations, handling phone calls & guest requests as required, along with reservation checks throughout the week.
