Description Organization Summary: WOTA is a door-to-door, demand response transportation organization that services the communities of northwestern Oakland County. WOTA is responsible for transporting riders with a priority for the elderly, adults with disabilities, veterans, and low-income families. Funded by the Oakland County Transit Millage, government funding, and fares provided by the riders, WOTA is the major source of transportation in the area. Since inception, five years ago, WOTA has quadrupled in size with the expectation that it will continue to grow. WOTA is an equal opportunity employer. Reports to: Dispatch Lead Status: Part time, non-exempt 7:30 am – 1:30 pm Monday through Friday Position Summary The Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors and callers. This role supports daily office operations, assists riders with registration, and ensures accurate communication between staff and drivers. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Greet visitors and assist riders in person and by phone. Answer and route general phone calls; respond to voicemails. Send daily emails to drivers with next-day assignments. Check and respond to emails throughout the day. Enter rider applications into the system accurately. Create and send rider packets as needed. Assist riders with registration or application questions. Complete reports (like gas receipts) on schedule. Provide general clerical support and maintain a welcoming front desk. Sell rider cards. Receive packages. Assist Dispatch with rider cancellations. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service, Interpersonal, and communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask. Proficient with email and basic office software. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Preferred Previous receptionist or administrative experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook. Experience working directly with drivers. Knowledge of ADA service requirements and customer sensitivity. Physical & Work Environment Office environment. Part time position Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 1:00 pm. Ability to respond to service disruptions and operational emergencies.
