The Facilities department are looking for a professional and welcoming Receptionist to join the team which is based at CISL’s award winning office in central Cambridge. You will be the first point of contact, either by phone or in-person for all visitors and building users. Join our small close-knit team and help create a positive and lasting impression!
Key Duties and responsibilities:
- Welcoming staff and visitors (including contractors) to the Institute; ensuring signing-in, allocation of building passes and/or desk space etc.
- Handling telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Efficient management of visitor, room, desk and parking bookings using the Office RnD system.
- General “housekeeping” duties to ensure the reception, foyer and coffee machine area is kept clean and tidy.
- Disseminating information about CISL, health and safety and the building to staff and visitors.
Updating Institute talks / seminar / events information on the relevant systems, including the electronic display screens and notice boards around the building.Providing the facilities team with general facilities and health and safety support; evacuation procedures and drills, fault reporting etc.
Key requirements:
- Reception or customer service experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive can-do attitude, flexible approach to situations and friendly demeanour.
- Shift work; 08:00 to 16:00 and 10:00 to 18:00. Able to provide occasional out of hours cover during events.
What you’ll receive:
- In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.
- 36 days annual leave (inc bank holidays).

This post is permanent, full-time working within our award winning Entopia Building in central Cambridge.
