About the role The Market Reconciliation team is responsible for the reconciliation of approximately $4 billion for AEMO settlement charges for both electricity and gas, MSATS standing data management, reconciliation of MSATS standing data to downstream systems and a 3-way reconciliation between Retail, Network and Energy invoices. The purpose of the team is to ensure the accuracy of information and reduce the risk of revenue leakages through overpayments and billing errors, in accordance with AGL risk strategy, relevant B2B procedures, jurisdictional time frames and regulatory and contractual requirements. The Reconciliation Reporting Analyst will provide support and work closely with the Revenue Assurance and Reconciliation team and wider AGL business through the investigation of systematic issues and recommendation of proposed resolutions. Responsibility for quality control functionality over AEMO Settlement reconciliation, standing data management, standing data reconciliation and 3-way reconciliation. This is a 12 month maximum term contract, based in Melbourne. What You'll Be Doing 1. Revenue Assurance & Root Cause Analysis - Identify, analyse and investigate primary causes of over/under charges in relation to AEMO settlement, standing data and 3-way reconciliations. - Undertake root cause analysis of exceptions to identify key drivers of revenue losses or overcharges and proactively develop processes to ensure accurate pass-through of all applicable charges to customers. - Be the SME in developing queries and formulas for the wider team to obtain detailed datasets that support productive and proactive revenue recovery. 2. Reporting, Insights & Business Communication - Utilise commentary to support data provided to stakeholders, highlighting key variances and trends and delivering clear business explanations. - Proactively engage and collaborate with RAR and internal stakeholders to provide insightful, relevant information that drives positive outcomes and aligns with direction from Governance and Assurance Managers. - Lead the coordination of Market Reconciliation’s reporting objectives to ensure outputs are accurate, timely and aligned with evolving business needs. 3. Data Integrity, Systems & Continuous Improvement - Maintain and enhance existing data and reporting tools to deliver valuable organisational insights through automation and uplift initiatives. - Monitor and periodically assess reporting systems, processes and outputs to maintain a high degree of integrity and reliability in reporting results. What You'll Bring Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience extracting and organizing data sets using SQL or other relevant tools. Knowledge in reporting tools, such as PowerBI. Use of AI tools. Excellent interpersonal skills, with high quality written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of Energy industry an advantage. Strong analytical & problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and drive a solution to completion. Demonstrated attention to detail. Flexibility and willingness to work on a range of tasks as delegated. Pro-active approach to continuous improvement. Ability to work independently and manage priorities within tight deadlines. Experience with process management, delivery of process improvement opportunities including working with an offshore function. Five years’ experience as a Business/Operational Analyst in similar or related businesses. Project management experience an advantage. Degree qualified in related discipline.
