Scope: APAC Markets

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Finance and Accounting
  • Strong Financial Accounting skills - IFRS knowledge
  • CPA preferred.
  • External Auditor experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of key Finance processes in R2R area
  • Experience in similar role in a shared service center or local accounting team.
  • Knowledge of a second jurisdiction is beneficial.
  • Key Skills: Effective communications both written and oral in English
  • Ability to apply professional knowledge in accounting provisions, accounting principles, preparation, audit and disclosure requirements to make appropriate judgments and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret problems / data gathered from a variety of sources.

  • To play a quasi-leadership role in ensuring the delivery of accurate performance of accounting operations within the end-to-end service delivery model and assist in setting the appropriate work instructions for the team.
  • To accurately perform accounting operations in order to meet a customer request following the appropriate work instructions.
  • Active involvement in team meetings – suggest ways of improving efficiency and the service provided.
  • Through engagement with the role and the wider team, seek to improve service levels, quality, KPIs and targets.

Quality

  • Understand the accounting policy and procedures required.
  • Work with the team to develop procedures and work instructions to meet the required standards.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Take overall responsibility of the end-to-end financial accounting reporting & process for the countries serviced; Drive and motivate the team to perform at high levels of performance in the role of a senior team member and to provide subject matter expertise for one or more country specific skills related to language or accounting knowledge by supervising the SME.
  • Review consolidated weekly, monthly and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with Global- GCAD requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for specific local accounting operations for a country, within the overall context of the harmonized operating model.
  • Ensures accounting rules are properly applied for both management and financial accounts in compliance with corporate standards.
  • Take ownership as the steward of the Balance Sheet in accordance with IFRS.
  • Add value and take on additional responsibility by actively participating in country meetings with non-Finance stakeholders to coordinate streamlining of processes across business operations with the SME.
  • Coordinates the external audit with designated auditors of Unilever.
  • Acts as internal consultant to satisfy stakeholder expectations and the primary SPOC to Market Finance Controller.
