QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • One-year experience in a complex clerical capacity preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Additional Requirements: Proficient in the use of a personal computer; working knowledge of word processing. Good organizational skills. Working knowledge of office procedures. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to proofread, correct punctuation, grammatical and spelling errors. Sound management techniques. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

Responsibilities
  • The Records Clerk reports to the Student Support Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position.
  • The Records Clerk performs clerical tasks associated with the maintenance of records for students enrolled in the Job Corps Program.
  • Maintains accurate files for all students and enters new student information into system.
  • Enters routine information in the computer daily as it relates to student activities.
  • Processes, collects, and files clothing receipts.
  • Processes transportation requests for students and new recruits.
  • Backs up Center Information System (CIS) and performs routine clerical duties.
