Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Records and Property Team Leader, the Records and Property Officer is responsible for the delivery of a range of services including working closely with all members of the prison to ensure the safety and security of prisoners, staff and visitors.

THIS POSITION INCLUDES DIRECT PRISONER CONTACT AND THE ROLE WILL INVOLVE A ROTATING WEEKEND ROSTER.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Day to day operations of the reception and discharge function of the prison.
  • Prisoner records, property and clothing.
  • Electronic and paper-based data entry.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computers and efficiency in departmental computer and data systems.
  • Knowledge of Corrections Victoria Policies and Practices relating to reception and discharge operations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of OH&S Manual Handling processes and practices is desirable
