Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Management, Information technology or a related field
  • A minimum of 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in a complex and highly legislated environment, contributing strategically to operational success through policy, research, analysis, and project implementation
  • Background in accounting, financial operations, or other quantitative disciplines is required
  • Experience in understanding and applying federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and regulations (e.g., MGA, LAEA, and FOIP Act
Responsibilities
  • Draft comprehensive project documents, including procedures, checklists, and tracking tools, for both Returning Officer and judicial recounts
  • Conduct and assist with stress-testing, simulations, and feedback gathering to identify and implement improvements to recount procedures, tools, and systems
  • Help develop and review training materials, then support the training of recount staff, ensuring they understand procedures, roles, and tools through clear communication and practical exercises
  • Assist in procuring and coordinating all necessary resources for recounts with logistics and voting technology teams, ensuring timely availability and operational readiness
  • Supervise the accurate and timely execution of all Returning Officer and/or judicial recounts according to approved procedures
  • Monitor recounts, provide ongoing guidance and support to staff, promptly resolve discrepancies, and manage standby staff communication
  • Supervise, assign work, and provide coaching, feedback, and support to direct reports, ensuring staff are empowered and well-equipped to perform their roles
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Lead and Manager, reporting progress, escalating issues, and confirming recount completion
