Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Recover at Work Advisor to join UnitingCare Queensland's supportive and high-performing Health, Safety and Wellbeing team. In this role, you'll support employees and leaders through the workers’ compensation and recovery journey, managing claims, coordinating rehabilitation and return-to-work plans, and providing practical advice that helps people return to work safely, confidently and sustainably. You'll work closely with managers, employees, EML and healthcare providers to overcome barriers, identify early intervention opportunities and deliver positive outcomes. If you're a relationship-focused professional with experience in workers' compensation, rehabilitation or injury management, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while working alongside a collaborative team that values wellbeing, continuous improvement and creating safer workplaces across Queensland. Please note, this position is Full Time. Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you too - this role supports hybrid working by agreement. Your part in our UnitingCare team: Support employees and leaders through the workers’ compensation and Recover at Work process, helping people return to work safely, confidently and sustainably. Manage claims from start to finish, including coordinating rehabilitation plans, conducting case reviews and maintaining clear, accurate records. Provide practical advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders, working together to overcome challenges and keep recovery plans on track. Take a proactive approach to early intervention and injury management, focusing on positive outcomes for both employees and the organisation. Track claim and recovery trends, prepare meaningful reports and use insights to drive continuous improvement across the function. Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including EML, healthcare providers and internal leaders, to achieve the best possible outcomes for injured workers. Work closely with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team to identify opportunities for prevention, improve employee experience and strengthen a positive safety culture across UnitingCare. What makes a difference for us? Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies. This may include a Nationally Coordinated Police Check and Right to Work in Australia. Tertiary Allied Health qualification or similar and/or extensive experience in Recover at Work services. Experience in workers’ compensation, claims management or rehabilitation, with a track record of supporting positive return-to-work outcomes. Confidence managing multiple cases at once while balancing compliance, stakeholder needs and employee wellbeing. A collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes across a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice and engage effectively with people at all levels of the organisation. Experience working across geographically dispersed teams or complex organisations, partnering with leaders and employees to deliver successful Recover at Work outcomes.
