Michael House provides a structure Halfway House and Transitional Living Programs to individuals who are involved in the justice system and/or have a substance use disorder.
This job will require the ideal candidate to work in our security building, monitoring the facility and clients to ensure safety is maintained. Building is equipped with refrigerator, microwave, heating/ac, and a Roku tv.
Ideal candidate would also be responsible for any client inquiries or concerns throughout the evening. Candidate needs to be able to work independently, problem solve, offer solutions and have experience in trauma informed practices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure all safety and security guidelines are followed.
  • Advocate on behalf of the clients in addition to addressing the needs of the clients with household supplies/hygiene products/pantry needs.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate client behavior using Michael House rules as guidelines.
  • Monitor and verify that clients are signing in and out appropriately.
  • Breathalyze all incoming clients.
  • Assist/direct clients to follow through with chores.
  • Answer and document any client’s questions/concerns.
  • Distribute mail to clients.
  • Inform clients of times/dates of upcoming House Meetings/Groups.
  • Accurately maintain and monitor security camera system.
  • Generate incident reports as necessary.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate with Director any behavioral concerns, positive breathalyzer results and curfew violations.
  • Contact and coordinate emergency personnel when necessary.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Conduct Rollcall at curfew, inspect rooms for order and cleanliness, document any clients not in at curfew, any chore violations.

SUMMARY

As Recovery Support Specialist, you will be an essential part of our team, providing guidance and support to individuals struggling with addiction. You will offer valuable assistance in helping clients navigate their recovery journey. Additionally, you will also ensure the safety of our clients by monitoring all clients leaving and entering the facility, as well as all visitors. You will ensure facility gates are secured at curfew and monitor parking lot.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong understanding of crisis intervention
Knowledgeable in de-escalation methods
Experience with substance use disorders
Ability to mentor and support individuals in recovery
Certified Peer Support Specialist is highly valued and considered a strong asset

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Conducts self in a manner of professionalism that is conducive to recovery from substance use disorders. This includes maintaining excellent personal and professional boundaries with clients.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Often, an employee will inadvertently become a role model for the client, regardless of whether an employee has direct contact with clients daily. Therefore, Michael House employees will conduct themselves with honesty and integrity.
