Description
The Recreation Team is seeking a friendly, motivated Recreation Activities Specialist to plan, implement, and supervise a variety of recreational programs. Examples of Duties: * Assists with planning, coordinating, and implementation of recreational programs * Helps lead and expand the department’s recreational program offerings to include research, planning, implementation, and evaluation *  Maintains recreation and athletic equipment and supplies in an organized manner and works with the Recreation Program Manager to determine supply needs for recreational programs * Assists in outreach efforts to publicize thecenter and programs and attract new customers. * Assists departmental staff with special town and departmental events. * Assures participant safety and security; calls for medical or law enforcement support when needed; answers questions about events and addresses concerns; assists with building maintenance and room set-up. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must: * have a high school diploma (or equivalent); * be at least 18 years of age; * have a valid driver's license and a good driving record; * be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and Word); * be available for some evenings and weekends in addition to weekdays * have a strong background in recreation program development and marketing; * be extremely organized and able to multi-task; * be able to complete tasks independently; * be able to conduct surveys: development, input, analysis, and report;   Strong preference will be given to applicants with education or experience in recreational programming. Additional Information: This position may be scheduled for up to 19 hours per week.   Equal Opportunity Employer
