Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents, in collaboration with the Recreation Manager.
Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming events; Liaises with other departments to coordinate programs and encourage participation.
Monitor behavior and condition of residents during programs and assisting in monitoring the residents’ interests, needs and progress.
Complies with all Health and Safety acts and Policies and Procedures
In collaboration with the Recreation Manager, the Activity Aide assesses, evaluates, and documents residents’ needs, participation, and response to programs.
Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent
A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or other related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience in a Health Care facility or equivalent experience in a geriatric environment.
Candidate must successfully provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check and a negative 2Step TB Test.
Requires G Drivers License ability to Drive Resident Van to outings
