SUMMARY

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at Outdoor Recreation, Ramstein AB, Germany.

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is U.S. Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between Germany and the U.S., you must be a U.S. citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a U.S. permanent resident card in order to be eligible for NAF employment. Citizens of Germany (including dual citizenship if Germany is one of the countries) as well as “ordinarily resident” US citizens are not eligible for NAF employment per SOFA agreement. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of Outdoor Recreation programs and applicable rules and regulations. Must have good organizational skills, cashhandling skills, and the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 20 lbs.

EDUCATION

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Responsibilities

Supports the planning and execution of a diverse range of outdoor recreation programs and events, ensuring engaging and memorable experiences for participants. This role supports all aspects of event management, from marketing and setup to participant instruction and inventory control.
Assists with plans programs/events for Outdoor Recreation (ODR) activities to include Outdoor Adventure Programs, Aquatic Center and the Rod and Gun Club using resources approved by ODR Director. Submits marketing request for public notifications targeting the appropriate demographics. Required to complete program plans and After-Action Reports. Sets up and decorates recreation areas for scheduled activities, records attendance, takes reservations, and assist with taking payments. Notifies participants of schedule changes, arranges for equipment or tools, and checking them for condition on their return. Posts announcements in-house, in other facilities, and on social media of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about items, places, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled, and takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment. Issues and/or sells event, program, or activity passes by using the Point-of-Sales System, answers all questions for patrons, and supports supervisor staff. Collects, safeguards, and deposits fees received from customer. Conducts regular inventory checks and maintaining records of said inventory, equipment, and prizes. Assists the supervisor in establishing schedules of events, as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: set-up and breakdown of event, guides patrons in planned play activities, helps to supervise participants for the activity, instructs charges in good manners, acceptable behavior, and desirable attitudes, and monitors self-directed activities. May be required to lead small team of volunteers or employees to execute events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
