Sunchaser Vacation Villas is currently seeking a Recreation Centre Supervisor for a year-round full-time position. Free staff accommodations available for one year. Compensation depends on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Recreation Centre at Sunchaser Vacation Villas houses all resort amenities including an indoor pool, hot tubs, sauna, steam room, games room, gym, plus laundry.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Recreation Centre Supervisor is responsible for the general management of 8 employees, overall maintenance, cleanliness and operations of the Recreation Centre by leading by example. The resort requires a hands on supervisor that can work alongside the team (not an office job).
The applicant must be able to from Thursday through Monday, (2:30pm-11:00pm), including statutory holidays.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The Recreation Centre Supervisor is also responsible for:

  • cleaning and maintaining all spaces in the Recreation Centre according to resort protocols. Spaces include but not limited to pools, outdoor decks and walkways, games room, front desk lobby and foyer, mezzanine, pool area and amenities, weight room, change rooms, lunchrooms, kids play area, laundry room, back office and common areas;
  • completing after-hour check-ins;
  • complete recurring walkthroughs in the Recreation Center and ensure supplies are replenished and spaces are clean;
  • check for disturbances in the Recreation Centre;
  • monitor spaces to ensure patrons’ adherence to rules and safety procedures;
  • complete pool maintenance which includes testing, checking water levels, cleaning and adding chemicals to the pools;
  • sorting, washing, drying, folding and stain treating resort laundry;
  • managing the Lost and Found department;
  • making deliveries to the villas;
  • following safety guidelines at all times (WHMIS guidelines, Pool Operating Guidelines, Safe Work Procedures, use of PPE, etc.);
  • report and document maintenance issues in the building to the Maintenance department;
  • handling maintenance calls after 5:00pm and assists guests with any concerns;
  • supervise laundry operations;
  • hiring, training and retaining Recreation Centre staff;
  • providing guidance and assistance to Recreation Centre team members;
  • coordinating schedules, payroll;
  • providing evaluations, coaching and development;
  • monitoring pool and hot tubs chemistry.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • WHMIS Certification.
  • Pool Operator Level 1 and 2 Certifications preferred (or willing to get certified).
  • Pool Operation experience a plus.
