Description

The Cranston Residents Association (Cranston RA), is a non-profit organization, which is professionally managed and maintained to ensure Cranston’s community features, amenities and the Century Hall facility will continue to be both esthetically pleasing and conveniently available for the long-term use of its residents. The Cranston RA also offers many sports, fitness, and recreation programs for all age groups, throughout the year.
The Recreation Manager is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, responsible for providing leadership to the Recreation department, through innovative and creative recreation programming, events and community engagement for the community of Cranston, Century Hall and its amenities.
The Recreation Manager supervises two year-round staff members and provides seasonal oversight to the Day Camp Coordinators and day camp portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a balance of leadership, creativity, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills to drive high-quality programs and community engagement.
Hours: Tuesday to Saturday; with availability in the evenings to support programs and events when required.
*Hours are subject to change based upon operational need, including program schedules and community events.
Reports to: General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in Recreation Management, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of supervisory and staff management experience in a recreation setting is required.
  • Experience in community engagement, sponsorship, or stakeholder relations is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with website updates and managing social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage conflict or sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required upon hire).
