JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the General Manager, we are seeking a creative and energetic Recreation Manager to create and lead the planning, coordination, and execution of recreational programs and activities for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to create a dynamic and inclusive environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the hospitality industry related to the area of seniors living.
- Serving it Right.
- Food Safe.
- Class 4 driver’s license. (or willingness to obtain).
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:
- Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Recreation program or equivalent education & experience with seniors.
- Previous experience in activity planning, recreation, or a related field, preferably in a senior living setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for working with seniors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and activity scheduling software.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and lead a variety of engaging activities, events, and outings tailored to the interests, abilities, and needs of our residents.
- Resident Engagement: Foster meaningful relationships with residents to understand their preferences and encourage participation in programs.
- Community Involvement: Collaborate with local organizations and vendors to create enriching partnerships and resources for residents.
- Budget Management: Manage the activities budget, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality program delivery.
- Communication: connecting with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input for future programming.
- Transportation Management: Schedule and manage bus staff and routes for community outings, appointments, and events. Coordinate with residents and families to accommodate transportation needs. Ensure all transportation services comply with safety regulations and maintain vehicles in optimal condition.
- Documentation: Prepare monthly activity calendars and maintaining communication boards within the resort.
